Alongside my personal practice, I collaborate with environmental organisations and community initiatives to create visual storytelling, illustration and conservation-focused projects.
Emma Radford is an artist based in rural Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa New Zealand, working across oil, charcoal, watercolour and pastel.
Emma’s work combines the human figure, everyday objects and botanical forms to explore harm, healing, womanhood, identity and the path of her becoming.
Here, ‘her’ is collective rather than singular: a way of thinking about the many versions of womanhood, and the different ways women become through what they experience, survive, lose, choose and reclaim.
